Blechynden Legal P.C. came to NxusCloud with a functional but disconnected technology environment: Microsoft 365 licensed through GoDaddy, a GoDaddy-hosted website, and general-purpose file storage standing in for a real document management system. Over a series of phased engagements, NxusCloud rebuilt the firm’s cloud foundation, brought its website under direct management, and became NxusCloud’s first NetDocuments implementation.
The Situation
Blechynden Legal, like many growing law firms, had adopted Microsoft 365 for email and productivity without a broader technology strategy behind it. Microsoft 365 licensing and the firm’s WordPress website were both provisioned through GoDaddy. Nothing was broken — the firm’s systems worked day to day — but the environment had grown piece by piece rather than being built around how a modern law firm actually operates.
The Problem
Three gaps stood out during NxusCloud’s initial assessment:
- Microsoft 365 Business Basic licensing limited the security, endpoint management, and administrative controls available to the firm — a real constraint for an organization handling confidential client communications.
- GoDaddy-hosted WordPress left website updates, plugin maintenance, and SSL certificate management outside NxusCloud’s control, disconnected from the rest of the firm’s technology.
- General-purpose file storage worked for basic access but wasn’t built for legal work — organizing documents by client and matter, managing permissions, and supporting the kind of structured retrieval a law firm actually needs.
The Approach
Rather than replacing everything at once, NxusCloud phased the modernization around four priorities: strengthen the Microsoft 365 foundation, bring the website under direct management, reduce dependence on disconnected vendors, and build toward legal-specific document management. Each phase created the foundation for the next.
The Solution
Phase 1 — Microsoft 365 Business Premium
NxusCloud migrated the firm’s users from Business Basic to Business Premium, giving the firm a Microsoft 365 environment built for identity management, device management, and security policy, not just email.
Phase 2 — Managed WordPress Hosting
NxusCloud moved the firm’s website off GoDaddy and into NxusCloud-managed hosting, taking direct responsibility for updates, plugin maintenance, SSL certificates, and ongoing security.
Phase 3 — NetDocuments Implementation
Roughly six months to a year into the relationship, NxusCloud became a NetDocuments referral partner and implemented it for Blechynden Legal — NxusCloud’s first NetDocuments deployment. This moved the firm from general file storage to a document management system built around clients, matters, permissions, and legal workflow.
The Outcome
The engagement left Blechynden Legal with a Microsoft 365 environment built for security and management rather than just productivity, a website actively maintained under one technology partner instead of a disconnected vendor, and a document management system designed specifically for legal work. Just as important, the firm now has a single technology partner who understands how all of these systems fit together, instead of separate vendors managing isolated pieces.

Why a Phased Approach Mattered
NxusCloud did not start this engagement by proposing every product at once. The Microsoft 365 upgrade came first because identity, device, and access controls are the foundation everything else depends on. Website hosting came next because a firm’s public presence is part of its overall security posture, not a separate concern. NetDocuments came last, once the relationship and the underlying environment were mature enough to support a bigger workflow change.
